Cross Cultural Mexico City Wedding | Cyn + Tessa

In 2021 I randomly reached out to Cyn and Tessa to photograph them while I was visiting San Francisco. We met up at Ocean Beach, and I saw their new love blossoming in front of my eyes. At that time they had only been dating for a couple months, but it seemed like a lifetime to me.

Fast forward to October 28, 2023 and I was lucky enough to capture their wedding day in Mexico City! They are a couple that loves each other and those around them with their whole heart.

The vibrant and culturally rich backdrop of Mexico City served as the perfect for Cyn and Tessa's wedding. The fusion of two distinct cultures was evident from the moment guests entered the venue, where traditional Chinese and Mexican elements seamlessly intertwined.

As the sun began to set, the soul-stirring melodies of a mariachi band filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity. The lively beats of the traditional Mexican instruments echoed through the venue, setting the stage for a night of dancing and celebration.

To further emphasize the fusion of cultures, the couple surprised their guests with a captivating performance by Chinese dragon dancers. The vibrant colors and graceful movements of the dragons added an enchanting touch to the festivities, symbolizing good luck, prosperity, and the union of two families from different corners of the world.

Cyn and Tessa's wedding in Mexico City was a celebration of love that transcended borders and cultural differences. The fusion of Chinese and Mexican elements created a truly unique and unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests. As a witness to their cross-cultural journey, I can confidently say that their wedding was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, tradition, and the promise of a bright future together.
